What do you do at Walker West?
I am the student services manager, which means I enroll students for classes, organize instructors’ schedules and make sure that classes and families are being taken care of.

Hometown?
I was born in Philadelphia and raised in Chicago.

What are some performance/professional highlights?
I’m also a radio personality, so I would have to say getting my own morning show and having it named for me is an honor, and something I will always remember and take pride in.

Favorite Walker West memory/experience?
Attending my first recital. I really enjoyed seeing the students in their element. I believe I was more excited than the students and parents!

Musical Influences?
I love all music, but R&B is definitely my favorite style. Nina Simone, 2Pac, Michael Jackson, Stephanie Mills, Tamia, Beyonce and Mary Mary are some of the artists most influential for me.

Favorite Album?
Too many to name!

Why is music education so important?
Music is an essential part of our lives. Music connects the world and gives us the ability to express ourselves.

Advice to young musicians?
Respect who came before you, work hard and rock out!
